If you're not too exhausted after all that, pop into our new shop (open from 10am until 2:30pm).
It currently stocks snacks and cold drinks as well as toys for the kids to play with, plants for the parents to take home and those all-important sunhats. Over the next few weeks it intends to expand on this to include, among other things, organic herbal oils and soaps for the bathroom, tasty pickles and chutneys as well as arts and crafts.
Following Mudchute's policy of giving back and supporting the local community, the shop has brought in adults with special needs to help run things. The aim is to teach life skills such as dealing with customers, working a till and buying stock, all things which will be useful when seeking a job. Children with special needs have also been enlisted to help create pieces to be sold in the shop.
Another innovation is allowing locals to rent out a shelf on which to display their own produce. For details. email Denise on d.lara@btinternet.com )
