Back in January we hosted the handsome Biddlesden Warrant, a lovely tup, who enjoyed the company of some of our Whitefaced Woodland ewes. Five months later, our ewes are ready to lamb. Earlier this week we welcomed the first of his lambs, a little blue-eyed ram lamb. We are expecting more lambs in the week to come and will be sure to keep you updated. In the meantime, here’s a look at the gorgeous little boy and his lovely mum!
Our aviary birds are settling in well to their new home, their new and improved aviaries! The new aviaries offer much more space for the birds and also make them easier for visitors to see. With help from our volunteers, we have furnished the new aviaries with lots of perches including willow branches from the farm, ropes and more. The setup also includes hanging feeders and drinkers and a new bathing table. For those birds who prefer to spend their time on the ground, gravel natural scratching and pecking behaviour. A huge thank you to our corporate volunteers from Lloyds Bank led by Tim Ling and Daniel Clarke for making this project possible and doing such a great job decorating the new aviaries!
We would like to thank One Housing Group for their donation of several tree planters and a large number of cobblestones which will come in very handy across the Mudchute Park & Farm over the coming months. In addition, One Housing Group have kindly removed a tonne of scrap metal, saving the Mudchute costly time and effort. They were ably assisted by Eddie Lockwood’s group from Enfield Payback. It is fantastic to have such valuable, close working relationships with our partners and long may this continue.
