Visitors may have noticed that Alan Scott and his team from conservation specialists Complete Ecology have defied the winter storms and started work on our new Nature Trail, made possible by generous funding from the Tower Hill Trust. Made of natural materials and sympathetically designed, new footpaths and staircases will soon be in place to give our visitors easier access to more of Mudchute’s open space, with way-markers and information boards installed to provide extra guidance. We hope that more of our visitors will feel encouraged to enjoy more of Mudchute’s hidden gems: our wetland area, dead hedge, hazel coppice, apiary and orchard. In addition to the new long Nature Trail around the while site we will also be laying a wheelchair-friendly, all-weather path around our lower field, taking in ponds, trees and wild flowers along a shorter route.
