Mudchute Equestrian Centre is a British Horse Society approved riding school. We have a variety of horses and ponies catering for all abilities. The all weather floodlit riding arena provides year round riding facilities. There is a full set of show jumps and some cross-country fences.
We provide riding lessons to adults and children, from beginner to advanced level, on an individual or group basis, with riding courses and a wide range of activities available for visiting groups.
We take children from the age of seven, and have no upper age limit.
All lessons and activities are bookable in advance.
Mudchute Equestrian Centre has stabling for 25 horses and ponies. Most belonging to the centre and some are on working livery. They are well-schooled and most can jump. You can meet our horses and ponies here.
We occasionally have horses and ponies for sale.
Our instructors are BHS and UKCC qualified. Our adult riders can enjoy courses on Bank Holidays and also work towards B.H.S. progressive riding tests.
During the school holidays we run full-day programs for children, which include two riding sessions and stable management lectures. The kids will learn tasks such as grooming, mucking out, tacking up, parts and colours of the horses and feeding. Sessions run from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, and are £70 per child with a £1.50 charge for hat hire. Boots are provided free of charge. Please check the lessons page for descriptions on suitable clothing and footwear.

You can view our current timetable to find out more about the different levels of lesson we offer. Be aware if you have had a break from riding you may want to begin in a level or two lower. Once you have an idea which class you may be suited to, please send us an email with the following details to be added to the list. Even if you wish to be on the private lesson list it is best to let us know your level. We will then get in touch as soon as space becomes available. Your first lesson will be an assessment lesson and your instructor will advise if the lesson is suitable for you to continue in.
If you wish to book in a lesson as a one off, please send us an email NO SOONER THAN 48 HOURS before your desired day. We will then be able to book you in on this one off basis if we have any cancellations.
