Improvement Works at Mudchute - May 2021

Dear Friends,

We are writing to update you on improvements that are planned for Mudchute Farm. Much needed work to improve the farm’s system which provides water for the animals, upgrade the external lighting and electricity supply, resurface paths, upgrade all toilets and community facilities including creating new community spaces and visitor hub/reception will begin on 10th May 2021, the work will take approximately 8 – 9 weeks to complete.

The work will mean that some areas and paths will be closed to members of the public during this time; a map showing the paths is attached.

Weeks commencing 17th May and 24th May - Nature walk path resurfacing ( base of steps at ASDA entrance to lower field gate). Purple route on attached map.

Week commencing 7th June - Path resurfacing from the WW2 Anti-aircraft Gun to ASDA. Yellow route on attached map

Week commencing 14th June - Path resurfacing from the Anti-aircraft Gun around animal pens. There will be no access to the top allotments from this path while works are carried out. Blue route on attached map

Week commencing 21st June - Path resurfacing from Pier Street to the Anti-aircraft Gun. There will be no access to the bottom allotments while works are carried out. Red route on attached map

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but hope that you appreciate that these measures are needed so that the improvements can be carried out safely and as quickly as possible. We will also be posting up information at the farm about path closures on our ‘Love our Parks’ boards and the Farm’s management team will be keeping visitors and neighbours informed on the progress of the work.

If you have any questions about the planned improvements, please either email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or alternatively speak with the farm’s staff.
