Visiting Our Open Spaces Responsibly - 4 April 2020

Saturday, 04 April 2020 12:19

Thank you to everyone that has been so supportive and followed the government’s advice.

Two weeks ago London’s parks were faced with the threat of being closed after a spell of warm weekend weather led to huge crowds. Please work with us to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

When taking your daily exercise please remember:

  • stay local
  • stay 2m+ apart
  • no picnics
  • no groups

We also strongly advise that you keep your dogs on leads whilst walking around the park and farm.

This weekend could be a crucial time, we need your support to help keep our parks open for all who needs them.

Together we can beat this! @towerhamletsnow @mpstowerhamlets #mudchuteparkfarm #socialdistancing #socialfarmsandgardens #lovethenhs

Please Help Support Mudchute!

Mudchute Park and Farm has been a pillar of the local community for nearly 70 years and now, in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, we are looking to our members, visitors and friends for support.

Our family friendly Farm is nestled in the heart the Isle of Dogs in London’s East End. The Farm and care of the animals is funded entirely by donations and as a result of our closure we can no longer rely on those funds to care for the numerous rare breeds that live at the farm and cover our expensive daily running costs.

We understand that as a nation we are all struggling to adjust to the current situation we are living through, but if there is any way you could help us to reopen in the near future and continue with our conservation and education projects, it would be greatly appreciated as all of the fantastic work our team carries out is under threat.

We are determined to always provide a place where children of all ages and abilities can play, learn and discover. Please use this link to donate to our “gofundme” page to help us continue to provide the highest level of care to our animals. You can also share this post to your own social media to help us with our cause.

From the whole team here at Mudchute Park and Farm and all our animals, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and look forward to welcoming you to the farm again soon.

Further Access Restrictions - Update 23 March 2020

Monday, 23 March 2020 22:02

Due to the incredibly high numbers of people visiting the farm this weekend and today we have had to reduce people’s access to view the animals by closing off the main livestock section of the farm, the closure of this area does not impede people’s access to the main footpaths and largest areas of the farm.

The main reason for this is to further protect the staff caring for the animals at this most uncertain of times. We have already had people walking through the barriers and not respecting the reasons behind their implementation.

Please, please, please follow the governments guidelines and respect the closures we have put in place to safeguard our farm staff as well as yourselves, we need to follow the social distancing guidelines and only go out if we really necessary.

Thank you for your respectful cooperation,

Stay well,

Mudchute staff team

Main Courtyard Closure

Wednesday, 18 March 2020 17:07

Today we have had to make the difficult but necessary decision to close the main courtyard as well as the Farm courtyard to the public. This is to safeguard our staff and visitors during the outbreak of coronavirus. As you all know the guidelines issued change daily. At present the cafe ( due to it being franchised ) remains open, there are toilets ( but no disabled ones)available in the cafe for its customers. The main park remains open as we cannot close the park but may have to further reduce access to the wider farm area to assist with any further social distancing restrictions implemented by the government.

Thank you all for your support and understanding at this difficult time, stay well.
